There are plenty of relevant anger management help courses about. First and foremost, though, it is important to understand anger and the consequences of that anger. Anger management help will not work without knowing what it is that an individual is attempting to change or control. Anger is completely normal. It is a generic reaction to confrontational situations.

It is okay to be angry, but when this anger becomes intense and frequent, it can result in major problems: problems within the family, relationships, school or work and it can cause health problems. People who are unable to manage their anger in a positive way are likely to transfer their anger onto other situations such as child and spousal abuse, violent crimes and other types of criminal activity. There are all sorts of anger-provoking situations, but there is plenty of anger management help that could be useful when working through anger-related issues. Some people become really mad or angry when they are frustrated. This frustration may lead to anger which can then spin off into a whole list of negative consequences.

Irritation, anxiety and frustration often invoke anger or even rage. Normal, every day incidents such as constant reminders or regular interruptions or delays might cause a person to become irritated. This irritation continues to grow and the result can be an unexpected blast of rage or fury. Depending on the person, this anger can cause a person to resort to different ways of releasing their anger, some of which may be painful to themselves and / or others around them.

When somebody is being verbally abused or perhaps even sexually harassed, it is quite easy to see that anger can result. People deal with these unsettling experiences in different ways but for those who become uncontrollably angry because of the abuse, the result could be very serious indeed and even violent. Anger management help is imperative in such scenarios, especially when people are feeling threatened.

If someone is handled unfairly, it often provokes feelings of anger. Often when people are blamed for something, whether rightly or not, it can cause them to get angry and behave out of control. There is so much information out there that can be important to understanding anger management. The more information a person can gather, the better equipped they will be if they are faced with circumstances involving an angry individual or if they require anger management help themselves.

The Martial Art Of Aikido

Posted on July 9th, 2010 by Rhys Jones

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

The subject of Martial Arts is one of the foremost contributions of Asia to the world. Who will forget Bruce Lee and the fact that he was first and principally a martial arts competitor before being a movie star? Martial arts films are a huge hit with the increasing popularity of Asian cinema like ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ and more recently ‘The House of the Flying Daggers’.

The Chinese are the first people that come to mind when it you think of these things, but the Japanese are equally as sporty with a rich tradition of body contact sports in their history. Modern Japan still gives honor to the martial arts by holding tournaments and promoting their sports around the world,

One of these is Aikido. It is interesting to note the fact that the word comes from three Japanese words from which one derives the meaning of the one word. Ai means ‘joining’, Ki means ’spirit’ and Do means ‘way’. From this we can see why Aikido lies beyond merely the physical skills of it students, especially since its first advocate, Ueshiba, focused on the spiritual and philosophical development of his students.

In Aikido, one is not trained in violence as a substitute, one is trained to be in concord with the adversary so that you are able to defeat him more easily. This might appear strange but it actually works. In attacking an opponent, the aim of the Aikido practitioner is to be one with the adversary so as to be able to attack him where he is weakest and in so doing, deflect or put him out of action, but never to kill him.

This is where Aikido becomes an art form. Art is something beautiful to look at and something positive and Aikido is all that. At least one of the people involved in the combat is searching for harmony and concord can only be achieved if there is elegance in the actions. The moves may be calculated, but there is an air of elegance in performing these movements. Not a feminine grace, but a grace that emanates peace. The ‘art of peace’ is what they call it in Aikido and it is one of the most affirmative influences of Aikido on its students and to everyone else who chooses to learn about this Japanese martial art.

Some of the techniques in Aikido include the following techniques.

Ikkyo is the first technique. Using this technique, you manipulate an adversary by using one hand to hold his elbow and one to hold near the wrist. This action is supposed to allow you to pin your opponent down to the ground.

Nikyo, the second technique, is when you perform a wrist lock which enables you to twist the arm of your opponent which will in turn cause nerve pressure.

Sankyo, the third technique, is a technique that directs upward-spiraling tension throughout the arm, elbow and shoulder. There are many other techniques but the first three are enough to give you a basic indication.

In studying Aikido, it is vital to remember that, together with building physical strength, you will need to improve your mind to be able to overpower your opponent. Just like in any art form, it takes a lot of training and discipline to reach the summit of the art of Aikido. The important thing to remember is, that anyone who wants to get into the art, must have the resolve to give honor to the art by performing it in the best way possible.

About Manic Depression

Posted on June 5th, 2010 by Owen Jones

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

Manic depression, or Bipolar Disorder, is considered one of the most severe types of depression that people regularly suffer from. It is characterized by sudden and extreme mood swings. Manic depression is so-called because manic refers to ‘mania’, which refers to the ‘ups’ while depression refers to the ‘downs’. Bi-polar also refers to both ends of the spectrum of emotions

Many people experience erratic changes in their moods and, sometimes, these so-called mood swings are not just because of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) or stress. Doctors have diagnosed mood swings as a common symptom of depression, when these mood swings become severe. For example, if someone becomes annoyed because a shop does not have his favourite biscuits, it may just a sign of a spoilt brat, but when becoming annoyed also means that that person will scream and swear at the shop keeper, it could be the start of Manic Depression.

The ‘manic’ times or ‘ups’ in Manic Depression (or Bi-polar Disorder) are described as the times when a person who has Manic Depression experiences extremely high periods, consisting of heightened energy, sudden outbursts of euphoric mood, extreme irritability, together with racing thoughts and aggressive behaviour. According to doctors, someone suffering from Manic Depression may have these so-called manic ‘periods’ not only for a day or so, they can actually go on for as long as a week or even longer.

During these so-called ‘low’ or ‘down’ periods, people who are suffering from Manic Depression may experience very similar symptoms to those who are suffering from ‘normal’ depression. People who are suffering from Manic Depression will experience episodes showing a depressed frame of mind – including abject feelings of lack of self worth and being unloved.

There are various other symptoms as well: irrational guilt, severe sadness, anxiety attacks, feeling of not belonging, severe gloom and an obvious lack of pleasure. According to therapists, someone who is depressed continuously for more than a week can officially be diagnosed as someone who is suffering from Manic Depression.

In spite of it being one of the most common and severe sorts of depressive disorder, Manic Depression can be successfully treated, according to doctors. There’s no reason to worry too much about having it. You just need to follow the procedures that the therapist gives you and take the prescribed medication in the proper dosage in order to help you (or your friend or love one) overcome Manic Depression before it is too late.

Also, people who suffer from Manic Depression should see their therapists on a regular basis, so as to be able to release their pent up emotions to someone who can interpret just what it is they are going through a lot better than an untrained person.

Although positive results for Manic Depression can be achieved from natural alternatives, a much more lasting relief from the symptoms of Manic Depressive can best be acquired through seeing a cognitive behaviour therapist. Contrary to some beliefs, when it comes to psychiatric treatments, psychiatrists, preferably those specializing in cognitive behaviour therapy, are still the best ones to visit for a permanent cure for Manic Depression.

About Anger Management Technique

Posted on May 28th, 2010 by Rhys Jones

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

Dealing with anger is never easy, since people always have to face problems and reasons for conflict but our anger management technique is crucial. We have to deal with price increases, arguments, war, violence, crime, everyday common stupidity and continuous interruptions. There is not one person in this sometimes difficult world that has not gotten mad at some point.

Anger is an emotion we all have to cope with. Anger comes in many forms, but the root of anger is hatred or frustration as a result of a previous deception or disappointment, which boils down to poor anger management technique. This is true. But, true or not, even in the Bible it says that when the first man and woman were created on the earth, the first noted problem was when the Devil, in the form of a serpent, lied, deceiving Eve. Once the lie became apparent, the world began suffering many problems, including violence, murder, war, shortages, disease, weather disasters and so forth.

Ever since that first famous lie, the world has become more and more unpredictable and continues to worsen as the years roll by. We can look at how a lie can provoke anger by looking at an individual case – a person engaged in criminal activities, such as stealing, writing bad checks, and selling prescription medications. Now this person had to deceive, since she felt that her behaviour and actions were her only possible means of getting through life.

So, she started lying to cover up her crimes. As the years went by, that person became angry and could not cope, solely as a result of the way she was behaving, her way of thinking, her poor anger management technique, the way she was living her life. That person began acting as anyone suffering from uncontrolled anger would act.

This included, undermining others, insulting others, verbally and physically assaulting, threatening, belittling, mocking, et cetera. The woman was diagnosed with mental illness, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar. She also had health issues, including diabetes. Now, if we look at all the aspects of that person’s anger and anger management technique, we can see, if we search deep enough, that her lying, which caused paranoia, was the basic reason for her behavioral problems.

These days, so many people have a problem with their anger management technique. Many of the people with post-traumatic stress disorder react in an angry way because they are reacting to a flashback in memory. Yes! People with post traumatic stress disorder often repress their negative emotions and when they get in a violent situation or are angered, it is often the result of fighting the sources that caused their trauma in the first place and not the person in their present vicinity.

But, we do not see this as the cause for the woman’s anger, since she did not make the problem public knowledge. Therefore, people would exclude post traumatic stress disorder as the cause, or at least lessen the possibility of it. So, now let’s take a look at diabetes, since this illness affects the nerves. The shortage of insulin creates other problems too, but many people with diabetes will become upset for little or no reason at all.

However, most people do not behave angrily, assault, insult or attack others . If we examine why crimes are committed, we see that very often, serious behavioural problems come from having told lies. Therefore, when we look at this woman’s situation again, we can see that we have to deal with the underlying problems that is her lying and get her to move on, avoiding bouts of frustration, anxiety and anger by using some form of anger management technique.

Now, the person is in denial, which means that until the legal system makes her take steps in anger management technique, then she probably will not get help herself. In addition, even if the criminal justice system does force her to get help, it probably will not work, since her denial has existed for probably many years. Now we are dealing with a real anger problem, since her behaviour is life long, which means extensive therapy is needed.

Anger is a normal emotion, but when it interferes with someone else’s life, it becomes a serious problem. This person is not hurting only one person, she is injuring everyone, since when she steals or writes bad checks, society picks up the tab by tax increases, as well as other levies. One of the biggest problems that I have noticed with this type of person, is that the system and society allows it to continue; only attempting to deal with it when the person is in custody. Once the person is released, then it starts again. This is a chain of events involving lack of control due to anger mis-management and bad anger management technique.

Tanning Bed Lamps

Posted on May 26th, 2010 by Gail Jones

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

Tanning bed bulbs, as used in up-market tanning beds, are a big part of the mystery of the Hollywood tan. You can have any type of tan you require with the wide range of lamps available on the market for tanning beds. There are deep-tanning lamps, bronzing bulbs, face lamps and plenty of others besides. These high-tech bulbs employ the best technology to tan you comfortably and in safety.

Furthermore, there is a different lamp for every kind of skin too. The sun bed industry produces different bulbs for dark to light skin colours. Besides that, you can have a soft tan, a golden tan, a bronze tan, or one the deepest of darkest tans you have ever seen. You can also change the type of lamp, as your tan progresses, so that you can achieve any combination of quite stunning results.

A tanning lamp is like having the sun in a tube. In fact, it is even better! Modern tanning bed lamps are made to the highest specifications and are very safe. The tanning industry and the government have implemented strict guidelines to ensure your safety. So, if you follow the instructions supplied with the product carefully, you can feel confident that you will not be risking your health to look great.

The UV rays that they emit are within the proscribed safety limits to ensure you stay safe, healthy and tanned. Furthermore, there are plenty of choices open to you, varying from UVB and UVA combinations to only UVA. It is quite simply your choice. So, why not choose your tanning bed bulb and give the sun a helping hand?

Tanning bulbs are ultraviolet-emitting devices that serve as the main component of the various types of tanning beds and booths. Tanning bed lamps have as their main purpose the enhancement of a cosmetic tan, although these bulbs also have a reputation for the successful treatment of eczema and psoriasis. The depth and type of tanning depends on the spectrum of light produced by the tanning bulbs and the vast majority of tanning bulbs produce more ultraviolet light than the sun.

Nearly all tanning bulbs use a device called a ‘ballast’ to regulate their power consumption. The ballast stabilizes the flow of electrical energy inside the lamp and is required to make sure that the bulbs use only the necessary amount of wattage that they require in order to work effectively.

There are different kinds of sunbed lamps on the market including reflector sunbed lamps and high output bulbs. The majority of lamps fall into two main categories: high pressure and low pressure types. (Within the tanning industry, it is customary to refer to high pressure tanning lamps as bulbs and low pressure tanning bulbs as lamps). Both high and low pressure tanning bulbs have a lack of oxygen inside its housing.

High pressure tanning bulbs vary in length from three to five inches and operate with 250 to 2,000 watt ballasts, 400 watt high pressure tanning bulbs are the most common. They are usually incorporated in the face tanning component of a sun bed. High pressure tanning bulbs are made of quartz glass and an additional specialized coating, which is necessary to filter out potentially deadly UVC ultraviolet rays.

These HP tanning bulbs, containing mercury or argon, create ultraviolet light in high concentration. Handling high pressure tanning bulbs requires a great deal of care, because even a tiny amount of oil from your hands can cause the bulb to fail prematurely. High pressure tanning bulbs should be replaced after about 1,000 hours even though they will shine for up to ten times longer.

Low pressure tanning lamps are much like ordinary fluorescent tubes, but the glass tube of low pressure tanning bulbs naturally filters out the harmful UVC ultraviolet rays. Low pressure bulbs have a useful lifespan of between 600 and 1,600 hours with 1,000 hours being the usual again.

Posted on May 24th, 2010 by Pauline Davies

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

Do you have plenty of time yet are not a lot of money for a smile makeover? If so, a home teeth whitening treatment is an appropriate choice. Notice that I used the word ‘appropriate’ instead of ‘best’. Both professional teeth whitening and home remedy teeth whitening systems are used in order to obtain a beautiful smile. It is just down to the patient’s way of life which is the appropriate method.

The following is an appraisal of teeth whitening systems that you use in the comfort of your own home and in your own time. The amount of money to be spent on these home remedies is also considered. NOTE: You should consult your dentist or even your doctor before using any of the following home-made teeth whitening remedies.

Can I make my own whitening solution cheaply? Believe it or not, you can save your hard-earned cash on costly teeth bleaching items! By allotting the necessary time for carrying out the suggested tips, you can be sure that you have a white set of teeth free. You can have a bright set of teeth with stuff that are normally already in your kitchen cabinet or medicine chest.

Do I have these things in my house? Yes, they are. All we are talking about are everyday items such as baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, cups, bowls, and spoons.

How do you create home whitening paste? To make an old-fashioned home remedy paste, combine two or three teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide with two teaspoons of baking soda together. Put the ingredients in a small bowl. The consistency of the paste should be that of toothpaste. For extra taste, a bit of mint or an inch of toothpaste can be mixed with the home-made treatment.

How is this home-made paste used? Spread with a toothbrush and leave the mixture on your teeth for a couple of minutes. You should avoid swallowing the paste, but if it occurs, don’t worry, just drink plenty of water.

What do I do after applying the paste onto my teeth? You need to brush them again using regular toothpaste to get rid of the bitter taste of the hydrogen peroxide. Smokers, coffee drinkers and even grandparents may use this remedy to reduce the heavy stains on their teeth.

Can I use this paste with sensitive teeth or gums? In the case that, you have gingivitis, cavities, open sores, or other gum problems, the paste may make your gums turn pale for a short time. However, remember that you ought to contact a dentist or even a physician before trying this remedy.

How frequently can I apply the paste on my teeth? Once a week. You should avoid brushing your teeth with this paste more than that.

To summarize, here are some characteristics of do-it-yourself home-made teeth whitening systems:

The patient must be able to perform and follow the above-mentioned instructions. The person must allocate time to perform the do-it-yourself whitening remedies. You have to stick with it because it can take more than a month before visible results are achieved. Home-made remedies cost relatively less than professional teeth whitening solutions. I hope this article puts a whiter smile on your face!

Anger Management Movies

Posted on May 10th, 2010 by Owen Jones

Filed under Uncategorized | No Comments »

Because anger management is a such a big problem in society today, there have been many programs developed, books written, Internet websites created and anger management films made. Although all of this help is available and available for anyone, not all people with anger issues can benefit from the same type of resource. Some people get help attending an anger management program – it may be effective and cause major changes in their behaviour.

Being able to steal away alone with a book may be helpful to a person with anger issues. Seeing their problems in print and being able to sort through them in their mind might be a great anger management resource. The Internet is a great resource regarding anger management and some may find it helpful to view the different sites and read stories about individuals with anger management issues. However for many people who have difficulties controlling their anger, watching an anger management movie might be what it takes to break them out of their pattern of angry, emotional outbursts.

Watching an anger management film would give the person the opportunity to see, with their very own eyes and hear with their very own ears, just what anger does to a person and those around them. An anger management video would likely provide illustrations and situations where individuals act on their anger. The film may apply exactly to an individual’s current circumstances. It may hit home – so to speak. Watching the actors play out their life stories and their behaviour may be an eye-opener. It may take watching a husband beating a child or wife, a mother screaming at her child, a child hitting another kid, to understand that anger is a significant problem to them.

When an angry person is in that frame of mind- ie really angry, he is likely to blame it on whoever is around him. But being an actor in his own film, he is incapable of watching his own performance. However, if they given the opportunity of seeing it on the big screen, he might be surprised and even devastated by what he has done. Watching an anger management film would probably be like watching yourself in a similar situation. This may be the device that works best for some people.

An anger management movie will not only give illustrations of the actual situations involving anger. The movie will likely provide information regarding anger management techniques. Using these techniques and the characters in the movie, it is likely that there would be scenes of people being introduced to anger management techniques and programmes.

The picture would explain the steps to dealing with anger and frustration issues. This type of anger management film might be the answer to many people’s afflictions. It would seem a good idea if the anger management movie showed the person, in the same situation as the afflicted, change from the first scene in the picture to the last scene. Showing how the individual was able to receive help through anger management and turn his life around, may just be the incentive he was looking for.

There is no doubt that, there are all sorts of anger management film available in the stores. The Internet is also a great source of information regarding anger management and anger management resources like as books and anger management films. If you think you or someone you know would benefit from watching an anger management movie, it would be a wise idea to get hold of one.
